Accessibility: what applies now

Public bodies in Germany have been covered by BITV 2.0 for some time. Since June 2025 the Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz has added obligations for many private providers as well.

We assess existing sites against WCAG 2.2 Level AA and tell you what can be fixed at reasonable cost and what cannot.

Web application firewall in front of every client project

Every web application we look after now sits behind a web application firewall based on the OWASP Core Rule Set. Suspicious requests are logged and evaluated; sources that appear repeatedly are blocked in escalating stages.

The rules are tuned per application, so editors are not held up by false positives.

Mail infrastructure now runs in a cluster

We have moved our mail infrastructure to distributed operation. Inbound servers, filtering and mailboxes now sit on several nodes that take over from one another when one fails.

Nothing changes for customers’ credentials. What changes is that a hardware failure no longer delays delivery.
